Private Wheel Lesson

If you’ve always wanted to try the potter’s wheel & you have about an hour and a half to spare, consider scheduling a private session here at my Pasadena studio.

I book weekdays & weekends, days & some evenings, though the schedule does fill up & planning ahead is great when possible.

Working with clay is engaging, enlightening, and fun — and it’s also a chance to connect with the material in a deeper way. Along the way you’ll pick up a little ceramics know-how, and (in a subtle, approachable way) a bit of the geology of clay and glazes too — how earth materials become a finished pot.

I work with lots of people making their first-ever pieces in the studio. And, if you have experience too, we can tailor the session to your goals: centering, pulling taller, refining forms, making consistent sets, troubleshooting clay behavior, glazes, and more. There’s always something new to learn.

The work you make will be trimmed, glazed, and fired by me, and is typically ready for pickup 3–6 weeks after your class. At the end of the session you’ll choose a glaze finish, and I’ll take it from there.

The cost is $195 for a 1.5-hour private lesson (1 person). This includes everything — clay & studio materials, plus glazing and firing for up to 2 finished pieces.

Once you’ve contacted me to arrange a time for your private class, click the “add to cart” button below to place a $100 deposit to hold your spot. The remaining balance is due at the lesson. Deposits are non-refundable, but you’re welcome to reschedule with 48 hours notice.
